I am a transformational life coach and mentor. This means I am particularly skilled at guiding people to navigate change for personal growth and greater wellbeing. My specialty is working with LGBTQ+ people. As a transgender gay man, I understand the emotional upheaval of working through gender and sexuality confusion, navigating change, and coming to a place of inner peace and self-acceptance.

Discovering and loving who we are can often be a challenge, but with the right support and guidance, it can also be thrilling, exciting, and rewarding

What Is Coaching and Mentoring?

Coaching and mentoring is an equal, collaborative partnership. Sessions provide a safe, non-judgemental space, to explore yourself and your current situation. As your coach and mentor, I work with you, to help you identify your goals, what might be holding you back, and help you build a bridge to where you want to get to.

It is important to note that coaching and mentoring sessions are not therapy. Therapy focuses on the past, as a way to better understand ourselves and our situation. Coaching and mentoring on the other hand focuses on the present situation and what we want to achieve.

If you are in crisis or need support with your mental wellbeing, please check out my resources page.

Things I can help with:

  • Support and guidance with the coming out process
  • Navigating gender transition – mapping out the process and goal setting
  • Exploring top surgery and lower surgery options
  • Looking after your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing through transition

A common request is for help around lower surgery decisions. I am able to be very honest and frank about my own experiences, to help you to talk openly and explore your thoughts and needs.

What Qualifies Me to Help You?

I use my personal experiences and my extensive studies in psychology to inform my practice.

I spent many years stuggling with my mental health, largely due to undiagnosed gender dysphoria. I spent the first half of my life self medicating as a way to cope. In 2010 I began my recovery from addiction. In sobriety I began a profound personal transformation, beginning with coming out as transgender.

In the years since, I have completed my gender transition, including having top surgery and phalloplasty. I returned to education, and I started my own business. Having completely turned my life around, I now have a huge passion to help others to do the same. Our past does not have to define our future.

I have worked in various settings with LGBTQ people in a support work capacity. I have studied social work, sociology, and psychology. Recently I graduated from the Open University with a First Degree BSc Hons Major in Psychology

How We Work Together

I offer a hybrid approach to our sessions, combining mentoring and coaching. This allows me to bring my own experiences into the mix when helpful. It can be powerful to work with someone who deeply understands your journey and can pass on their knowledge and experience of what to expect along the way.

I offer both one-off and ongoing sessions. One-off sessions are commonly used in more of a mentoring capacity, for people looking to ask questions about gender transition, particularly lower surgery. This is where my hybrid approach can be very powerful because as well as answering direct questions from you, I can also use my coaching skills to help you more deeply explore your questions.

If you are considering ongoing sessions, we can get a feel for each other in our first session and see if we are a good match going forward. If you would prefer to discuss over email before booking, please do use the form below to contact me.

Our sessions take place online using Zoom. Zoom is easy to access without needing to download anything. Each coaching session is for 50 minutes. Coaching and mentoring relationships work best using a face-to-face method. However, if you would still like to work with me, but would prefer email, I am happy to discuss this further.

Costs and Payment

I aim to make my content and services as accessible as I can Therefore, I offer coaching and mentoring sessions on a sliding scale, allowing you to pay according to your means. I have included a description to help you to work out which price to choose:

£70 is the actual cost of a coaching and mentoring session.  Choosing to pay less than this amount means you are receiving a discount.

£50 – £69 – for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income. Paying for a session may mean a sacrifice but it would not create hardship.

£35 – £49 – for those who struggle to meet their basic needs and paying for a session would cause significant hardship.

Pay it Forward – All my services and products have a minimum price allowing those who can afford to, to ‘pay it forward’ and give a little extra to support the work I do in the LGBTQ community. In this case, anything above £70 is a pay-it-forward fee, with the extra money going towards supporting the lower tier of the sliding scale and supporting the other resources I offer for free/low cost.
